At REEL, we act responsibly, with dedication, and sustainability in mind: corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a fundamental pillar of our corporate culture.
The Pillars of Social and Environmental Responsibility

CSR in Numbers
For over 75 years, REEL has been designing and manufacturing complex equipment for the most demanding industries. This level of dedication also extends to our societal role. At REEL, CSR is a concrete and collective effort led by both the company and its employees. This commitment is demonstrated daily through actions in five key areas: Health & Safety, Environmental Protection, Quality of Life at Work, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Inclusion and Training.
Strong, Shared, and Lived Values
Our values form the foundation of our CSR commitment. They are embodied in an ethics charter, a clear code of conduct, and responsible daily practices.
Respect, solidarity, safety, and integrity guide us at all levels, from governance to operations, with the objective of creating a positive and sustainable impact.

ISO 14001 Approach
Several of our sites are certified ISO 14001, an internationally recognized standard for controlling environmental impacts and ensuring continuous improvement.
Through this initiative, we assess and manage our impacts in areas such as energy consumption, waste management, emissions control, and noise reduction.
Our goal is clear: to minimize our environmental footprint across all stages of our activity, from design to the commissioning of equipment for our clients.
This effort goes hand-in-hand with internal upskilling, a focus on responsible procurement, and the integration of environmental considerations from the design phase. Recycling more, consuming less, and producing sustainably: ISO 14001 serves as a key driver of progress, fully aligned with our CSR commitments.
DNV ISO 19443 nuclear certificate
In 2020, REEL became the first company in the world to be certified by DNV according to ISO 19443 nuclear!
Spotlight on Our Concrete CSR Actions
Behind our commitments are tangible actions delivered by our teams on the ground. Below are a few examples.
REEL International actively engages in managing and reducing waste. This includes selectively sorting office and industrial waste (paper, cartridges, batteries, bulbs, metals, plastics, etc.) and routing it toward recycling or recovery with qualified service providers across all group sites. Factories implement specific solutions, such as chip recovery, use of sealed containers, and treatment of used oils.
REEL International reduces its energy footprint by modernizing its infrastructure. Initiatives include:
- Installing LED lighting across facilities
- Deploying solar panels on several sites
- Using better-insulated buildings
- Adopting variable energy compressors
Additionally, employees are encouraged to power down devices when not in use, and energy consumption is closely monitored as part of sustainable internal practices.

As part of its commitment to sustainable mobility, REEL promotes the use of vehicles emitting less than 140g CO₂/km and provides an internal carpooling platform. The widespread adoption of video conferencing has also significantly reduced business travel.
On a national scale, REEL offers a carpooling solution to its employees via the Karos application.

REEL continuously optimizes its purchasing processes to centralize and anticipate orders while selecting suppliers who are committed to sustainable waste management.

The company regularly conducts awareness campaigns to instill sustainable practices among its employees. Every new hire is trained in sustainable development issues, and internal communication efforts support ongoing improvement projects.
Additionally, employees, including members of the executive committee, participated in creating a “Climate Fresco,” a collaborative and educational environmental workshop.

REEL for the Future, a philanthropic commitment
To strengthen its social commitment and act sustainably in the public interest, REEL has chosen to create its own endowment fund. This mechanism combines legal rigor, financial autonomy, and long-term impact by supporting projects with high social, cultural, or environmental added value.
REEL for the Future, serving the common good
Created in France, REEL pour l’Avenir is an endowment fund governed by French law. It can receive donations from companies or individuals, and mobilizes its resources to carry out sustainable actions around education, culture, research, and environmental protection. With the support of a dedicated board of directors, this fund reflects the REEL group’s desire to structure and professionalize its philanthropic commitments.
