We are pleased to announce that Philippe Frantz, President of REEL, was appointed Chairman of Nuclear Valley on 16 May 2019.
His deep knowledge of the nuclear industry and his commitment to serving the sector and the region were key factors in his appointment.
What is Nuclear Valley?
Nuclear Valley is France’s only state-accredited competitiveness cluster dedicated to the civil nuclear sector. It promotes the economic development and competitiveness of the French nuclear industry by supporting innovative collaborative R&D projects, and by mobilising resources from industry, institutions, academia and research bodies across the Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions.
Strengthening collaboration across the sector
Nuclear Valley plays a key role in fostering relationships between major contractors and SMEs/ETIs, organising conferences and industry events, and promoting training programmes that help boost the appeal of the nuclear industry and support job creation.
As a strategic partner for the French nuclear ecosystem, Nuclear Valley contributes to the execution of the 2019 Strategic Contract for the Nuclear Industry, the first of its kind.
Nuclear Valley, a long-term commitment to excellence
Signed by the French government and leading industry players such as Orano, CEA, Andra, Framatome and EDF, the contract sets out a coordinated plan of action to secure the long-term future of the sector, the third largest industrial industry in France.
It also provides the long-term visibility needed to preserve national know-how, maintain skills within the industry, and support international growth.
