At the 2019 SEPEM trade fair in Toulouse, REEL showcased its early innovations in maintenance 4.0. Arnaud Miton, Technical Director of the Aerospace Division, and Sylvain Massol, Maintenance Development Manager, introduced the group’s first industry 4.0 applications dedicated to predictive and connected maintenance.

Technologies driving maintenance 4.0

REEL has gradually integrated digital technologies to support predictive, flexible, and high-performance maintenance services. These innovations are designed to anticipate customer needs and improve operational efficiency.

Key examples include:

  • Virtual reality for design and training (aluminum machine simulators)
  • Predictive maintenance via current analysis on nuclear bridge cranes
  • Machine data acquisition (e.g. electric drilling units by REEL AEI)
  • IoT applications through the I3M project with Airbus
  • Robotics and cobotics for automated drilling processes

A key step in REEL’s innovation roadmap

This presentation helped define REEL’s innovation strategy in maintenance 4.0, bringing concrete examples to industry stakeholders. It reinforced the group’s position as a trusted partner for high-performance maintenance in complex environments.
