MC Levage, a subsidiary of the REEL Group specializing in complex lifting systems, has been featured in L’Usine Nouvelle for its contributions to the biomethanation sector in France.

Lifting Solutions for Biomethanation: the entire process

Biomethanation converts organic waste into biogas. This renewable energy can then be used to generate electricity and heat. With over 600 units operating in France, demand for robust, efficient systems is growing rapidly.

MC Levage equips these facilities with fully automated overhead cranes, supporting the entire process:

  • Grabs collect manure or similar material
  • The waste feeds into hoppers and grinders
  • Buckets transfer the processed material to digestion tanks
  • Digestate is recovered post-treatment

These systems operate with high precision, under demanding conditions, day after day.

Tailored support from design to commissioning

MC Levage – REEL works closely with agricultural cooperatives and engineering firms. Its experts support clients from the pre-design phase, helping them calculate operational cycles and define the ideal specifications.

The team also optimizes the size and speed of buckets and grabs to ensure minimal energy consumption, making each solution both efficient and sustainable.

“We deliver tailor-made systems, adapted to each project’s specific needs,” says Loïc Stéphan, Deputy Director for Lifting Solutions.

Lifting Solutions for Biomethanation are built for harsh environments

Biomethanation units face harsh operating conditions—moisture, corrosion, heavy usage. That’s why MC Levage – REEL designs highly robust, long-lasting equipment capable of performing in such environments.

Every system is fully programmable, adapting to the layout and constraints of the site. The result: safe, efficient, and scalable lifting operations.
