A strategic contribution to Airbus’s industrial expansion
On October 13, 2025, Airbus inaugurated its second final assembly line (FAL) dedicated to the A320 family at its Mobile site in Alabama (USA). This major industrial project is part of Airbus’s ambitious goal to produce 75 aircraft per month by 2027, in response to growing demand for fuel-efficient and high-performance single-aisle aircraft.[1,2].
REEL is proud to have contributed to the design and implementation of this new line, integrating advanced technical solutions that meet the highest standards in safety, ergonomics, and productivity.
A modern infrastructure serving performance
The new FAL spans 32,500 m² and is part of a broader industrial complex covering over 230,000 m². It includes production and logistics areas, offices, double- and four-bay hangars for the A320 and A220 families, paint shops, a distribution center, and an expanded transit warehouse[1,3].
Since the site’s opening in 2015, Airbus has delivered over 600 aircraft from Mobile to customers in the United States and Latin America. With this extension, local production capacity is now doubled, reinforcing Airbus’s industrial footprint in the U.S.
REEL, trusted partner for the Airbus A320 assembly line in Mobile
By contributing to this project, REEL reaffirms its role as a strategic partner for major aerospace players. Our teams leveraged their expertise to design a modern, secure, and optimized assembly line that supports Airbus’s industrial ambitions.
This project reflects Airbus’s renewed trust in REEL and our ability to deliver high-performance industrial solutions in support of global aerospace growth.
