A new FTA machine for high-performance aluminium smelting
NKM Noell Special Cranes, a REEL Group company, has successfully delivered a new Four Tending Assembly (FTA) to an aluminium production site in Hamburg.
The equipment was fully pre-cabled, tested, and assembled in our La Rochelle workshop before being shipped ready for operation.
What is an FTA machine?
An FTA (Four Tending Assembly) is a key machine in aluminium smelting plants, designed to automate essential operations around the electrolytic cells:
- anode rod punching,
- alumina feeding,
- bath stirring,
- removal of crust and waste,
- and other maintenance tasks.
FTA machines improve safety, cell lifespan, and operational efficiency.
