REEL International signed an agreement to acquire Metso Outotec’s Aluminium business.

REEL International SAS (France) signed an agreement to acquire Metso Outotec Oyj (Finland) aluminium business.

With this acquisition, REEL, a leader in handling and lifting systems, will add to its offering green anode plant, anode rodshop and casting equipment along with related services, thus becoming a leading technology provider in the global aluminium industry.

The value of the transaction is not disclosed.

The acquired business serves aluminium smelters globally, and has a leading position in the production of anodes required in the aluminium smelting process.
Its leading Green Anode Plant and Anode Rodshop technologies are featured in most of the world’s recent aluminium smelter expansions.
The business is primarily based in Germany, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates, with presence in China, India and Australia, and will complement REEL’s international presence.
